The Hungarian data is slightly lower than the EU average, but the share of people working in IT in Hungary is still above 4%. Sweden had the highest share of ICT professionals (8.7%), while Greece had the lowest (2.4%). The share of female ICT professionals has also increased, with almost one in five ICT professionals in 2023 being women. Interestingly, Bulgaria had the highest proportion of women (29.1%) and the Czech Republic the lowest (12.4%), which is difficult to explain, as the Czech Republic is thought to be a more developed, westernized society. The figure for Hungarians is around 15%, a hair’s breadth below the Italian figure, for example.
